A Weekend of Wellness: Yoga, Connections, and Community
International Student Ambassador

My name is Akash Mishra, and I am an international student from India currently pursuing an MA in Buddhist Studies at ELTE, also working as a volunteer for ASCC, Budapest. This time I get the opportunity to collaborate both in one place, and what better than yoga could be through that.

In today's fast-paced world, maintaining both physical and mental well-being is a necessity. As Ambassadors, our role extends beyond communication and representation; we engage with people, support communities, and strive to make meaningful connections. To do this effectively, we must keep our bodies active and our minds clear. What better way to achieve this than through yoga?

This weekend, we attended a truly enriching interactive session at the Indian Embassy in Budapest. Organized with the support of ASCC Budapest, the event brought together ambassadors for a revitalizing yoga experience. It was a chance to step back, breathe, and reconnect with ourselves.

Guided by the skilled yoga instructor Arvinda ji, the session unfolded with warmth and positivity. Each posture was introduced with patience and encouragement, accessible and enjoyable for everyone, regardless of experience level. Many of us struggled to balance poses and coordinate breath with movement, but the room buzzed with shared joy and camaraderie.

Amid the light-hearted attempts and moments of laughter, we found something deeper: a sense of unity and mindfulness. The goal was never to perfect every posture. We stayed present and came away with memories that will last.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Mukesh Srivastava, Director of ASCC Budapest, for organizing this session and giving us such a meaningful opportunity. He has worked hard to build interactive, wellness-focused programming, and we look forward to more initiatives like this.

We are equally thankful to the Indian Embassy in Budapest for their gracious hospitality and to ELTE for its role in bringing student ambassadors closer to experiences like this.

This weekend reminded us that wellness grows when shared. Through yoga, we strengthened our bodies and deepened our connections. It was fulfilling and unforgettable.
