Budapest, in the Season of Blossoms
Anh Minh blog picture
Hi! I’m Truong Dao Anh Minh, an International Business Economics student from Vietnam. This semester, I’m back with another student blog. This time, I want to introduce you to another beautiful season in Budapest, because Miss Spring has arrived!

After long months of grey skies and cold winds, the sun finally begins to shine again over Budapest. The city slowly wakes up from winter as trees start to blossom, and people return to the parks and riverbanks. Spring in Budapest feels like a quiet celebration of light, warmth, and new beginnings. For me, this is the time when the city feels alive again.

After months indoors, people in Budapest love spending time outside again. Parks fill with people sitting on blankets, sharing snacks, and enjoying small picnics together. Others bring a book and relax under the sun, appreciating the simple warmth of the afternoon. Sometimes I do the same, just sitting in the park with some music and enjoying the sunshine after a long winter. These quiet moments make spring days feel peaceful and refreshing.

Looking for blossoms around the city

Looking for blossoms

One of the simplest joys of spring is walking through the city and discovering trees blooming everywhere. I can recommend places like Gellért Hill and Margaret Island, which become especially beautiful during this season. You can also catch sight of lovely flowers as you wander through the streets of Budapest. Soft pink and white blossoms create small moments of beauty along the paths and gardens.

To me, the best way to end a spring day is by taking a walk along the banks of the Danube River. After a long day of studying, watching the sunset here always helps me relax. As the sun begins to set, the light reflects on the water and the city turns golden. This is also the beginning of the beautiful sunset season. You can stroll slowly along the river, enjoying the cool evening air and the cotton-candy skies above Budapest.

Preparing for exams

Prepping for exams

Almost two months have passed since the beginning of the Spring Semester, which means we are getting closer to exams (or maybe you have already encountered them). If you are also a student at ELTE GTK like me, you probably know that we have already had many midterms. However, with so much beauty around us, it becomes easier to relax and recharge after stressful revisions or exams. Take a moment to enjoy the blossoms, the sunshine, or a peaceful walk, as these little joys can make all the difference during the study period!

I hope this blog is helpful and that you find ways to enjoy your spring in Budapest to the fullest! :)
